Types of turtles

There are many different types of turtles in the world. While some are known throughout the world as wonderful pets; others are best left to their own devices in the wild. But, what are the different types of turtles that you can adopt? Where do they come from? What are the different types of turtles?

There are three different types of turtles; aquatic turtles, semi-aquatic turtles, and non-aquatic turtles. Each of which have one similar feature, the shell! All of which are comprised of the carapace and plastron.

There are many different types of turtles which come from all around the globe. So many that it would be impossible to list them all! Some of the most well known and popular turtles are:
